If you’ve been following the limited test of Counter-Strike 2, you’ve probably noticed the buzz around the Premier mode leaderboard. Currently, the player dominating the rankings is Leslie “Bobosaur” Soen, a former professional Counter-Strike player from Singapore. Since claiming the top spot in the world ranking, “Bobosaur CS2” has been trending on Google.
Bobosaur, aged 27, previously played for organizations like BOOT and HZ from April 2018 to May 2021, as reported by HLTV. His most recent official match was a 2-1 loss to D13 in the Hyperion OEL Launch 2021 tournament.
Despite coming from a region not widely recognized for its prowess in Counter-Strike esports, Bobosaur CS2 has become a hot topic across platforms like HLTV, Reddit, and the wider gaming community. Western fans, in particular, may be unfamiliar with his achievements.
To secure his top position, Bobosaur has been teaming up with other skilled players from the region, forming formidable squads to take on the rest of the beta players. He frequently joins forces with other top-ranked players, including Kurosaki, who currently holds the second spot.
It’s important to note that this is only the beta phase, and not all players are actively participating or competing in these matches. The matchmaking system is still being refined, resulting in imbalanced matchups where players with a rating of 35,000 face opponents 20,000 points lower.
Nevertheless, Bobosaur is making history during the beta season, and it remains uncertain if anyone will be able to overthrow him before the official launch of the game.
