During the press conference for the Worlds 2023 finals, NewJeans member Hanni surprised everyone by confessing her newfound love for League of Legends. She shared that she had recently tried playing the game for the first time and became quite addicted to it.
League of Legends, developed by Riot Games, is a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game played by teams of five who control different champions in an attempt to destroy each other’s Nexus. It has gained immense popularity not only in South Korea but worldwide.
While the other members of NewJeans haven’t dabbled in the game, Hanni already has plans for their roles if they were to play. Minji expressed interest in trying out the jungle role, while Haerin and Danielle’s teamwork would make them a formidable duo in the bot lane. Hanni herself would take on the top lane as Garen, leaving the mid lane for Hyein. Hanni expressed hope that their team composition would lead them to victory.
NewJeans, ADOR’s all-girl group, made their debut in 2022 and achieved the impressive feat of becoming the first K-pop band to reach the million-seller milestone with their debut album, “New Jeans.” Known for their energetic performances and catchy hits like “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “OMG,” and “Super Shy,” they collaborated with Riot Games this year to perform the anthem for the Worlds 2023, titled “Gods.”
