Akai: The Ultimate Counter
Akai is the perfect counter to Argus due to his ultimate ability, Heavy Spin. This skill allows him to continuously knock back or hold down enemies. When Argus activates his ultimate, quickly cast Heavy Spin to push him away and render it ineffective. You can also pin him against a wall or allied turret to prevent his escape. After his ultimate ends, use Headbutt followed by Body Slam to stop him in his tracks. To further weaken Argus, purchase Dominance Ice to reduce his attack speed and the health restoration effect of his passive. If Akai is not available, consider using Franco or Kaja, as both can suppress Argus with their ultimate abilities.
Jawhead: Tossing Argus Aside
Jawhead’s second skill, Ejector, allows him to throw enemies to a specific location. This makes him an excellent counter to Argus, as he can use Ejector to toss him away when he activates his ultimate. Wait for Argus to trigger Eternal Evil, then seize the opportunity to use Ejector and throw him to the maximum range. Once his ultimate expires, close the gap with Unstoppable Force and finish him off with Smart Missiles and basic attacks. Investing in Hunter Strike will give you a significant boost in movement speed, allowing you to chase down or escape from the Dark Angel.
Valir: The Kiting Menace
Valir poses a significant threat to melee heroes like Argus due to his exceptional kiting abilities. His skill set includes stun, slow, and knockback effects. His ultimate, Vengeance Flame, not only enhances his first two spells but also acts as a built-in Purify. When Argus tries to approach you with Demonic Grip, immediately cast Vengeance Flame to remove the stun and push him back with Searing Torrent. Follow up with Burst Fireball to slow him down and trigger the stun effect from Ashing. Even if he activates Eternal Evil, he won’t be able to get close to you. Once his ultimate ends, continue using Searing Torrent and Burst Fireball to burn him down. Enhance your kiting ability by choosing Flicker or Sprint as your battle spell. Additionally, consider purchasing Ice Queen Wand to boost your slowing effect and Necklace of Durance to reduce Argus’ HP regeneration.
