Zven Leaves Cloud9 After Four Years

Samuel Crossley

Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen has officially departed from Cloud9 after a successful four-year tenure. The Danish player announced his departure on social media, expressing gratitude towards Cloud9’s co-founder and CEO for taking a chance on him when no one else would.

Zven, a free agent, is actively seeking a team for the upcoming 2024 season. He is determined to return to his original role as a bot laner and not as a support player, which he temporarily transitioned to in 2022.

Throughout his decade-long career, Zven has primarily played as a bot laner, competing with renowned teams such as G2 Esports, TSM, and Cloud9. In 2017, he made the move from the European league to the LCS, initially joining TSM before finding success with Cloud9 in 2020.

Zven’s decision to shift to support in 2022 was driven by his desire to increase his chances of reaching Worlds with a strong team. However, he now aims to return to his preferred role as a bot laner and continue competing at the highest level.

As a highly experienced player, Zven’s departure from Cloud9 marks the end of an era. Fans eagerly await news of his next team and anticipate his return to the bot lane in the upcoming season.
