Eren and the Group’s Journey in Marley
After the intense battle at the port, the story takes us back to Eren and his comrades’ first visit to Marley. Their goal is to form an alliance with the Subjects of Ymir Protection Group, who are planning to give a speech the next day. However, they soon discover Marley’s persecution of Eldians when Levi saves a young refugee named Ramzi from a hostile crowd. This realization dampens their hopes for peace, but Hange remains optimistic about the Protection Group. At the forum, they are disappointed to find that the speaker seeks aid only for the refugee Eldians, further condemning the “island devils” as the true enemy. Witnessing the hatred towards Eldians, Eren decides to set up a surprise attack in Liberio.
Mikasa’s Words to Eren Before the Party
During their time at Azumabito’s home, Mikasa realizes that Eren is missing and finds him near Ramzi’s community. They have a heartfelt conversation about their shared experiences and Mikasa’s deep care for Eren. However, their moment is interrupted when they are invited to a party. The rest of the group joins in the celebration, and they all end up passed out in a tent. Later, both Eren and Mikasa reflect on their complex relationship and wonder about the possibilities that lie ahead.
Eren’s Motivations for the Rumbling
The episode also sheds light on Eren’s plans and motivations through conversations with Floch and Historia. While he initially agrees to the Eldian euthanasia plan proposed by Yelena and Zeke, Eren reveals to Floch that he is only pretending to go along with it. His true intention is to attack Marley once he gains access to the Coordinate, the power that connects all titans and Subjects of Ymir. Historia tries to reason with Eren, expressing concerns about innocent lives being lost, but he remains steadfast in his belief that the Rumbling is the only way to end the cycle of revenge and ensure the happiness of his friends.
