Confusion Surrounding the Timeline of Ahsoka: Unraveling the Mystery

superadmin

Are you left scratching your head after watching the first few episodes of Ahsoka? You’re not alone. The new Disney Plus series leaves out crucial details about when exactly the events take place, and it even seems to contradict itself if you’re a fan of Star Wars Rebels. Let’s piece together the clues and try to make sense of Ahsoka’s elusive timeline.

In broad terms, we know that Ahsoka is set in the Star Wars universe after the fall of the Empire and before the rise of the First Order. It takes place between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, specifically four years after Star Wars: A New Hope (4 ABY).

However, there’s a mural dedication scene in Ahsoka that throws a wrench into the timeline. The mural, which features prominently in Rebels, is shown as newly painted in Ahsoka. But in Rebels, it was seen in the show’s finale, which takes place in 5 ABY. This suggests that Ahsoka actually occurs before the events of The Mandalorian and immediately after Rebels.

Yet, Ahsoka also reveals that Ahsoka and Sabine have developed a master-and-apprentice relationship off screen. This implies that the mural scene in Ahsoka is not simply a live-action recreation of the final scene in Rebels, but rather a repetition of their vow to find Ezra Bridger years later. It’s a bit confusing, especially considering that Lothal is incredibly late in dedicating the mural.

Ultimately, it seems that Ahsoka takes place after The Mandalorian and Boba Fett, which occur after A New Hope. However, the exact number of years that have passed remains unclear. As the governor of Lothal cryptically states at the mural dedication ceremony, it’s simply “several.” Not the most helpful information, but that’s all we have for now.
