Crimson Desert, developed by Pearl Abyss, is an open-world RPG that offers an abundance of features and activities. The game was showcased at Gamescom 2023, and it seems to have taken inspiration from Elden Ring and other popular titles.
In this fantasy world, players assume the role of a mercenary who explores on horseback. The game offers a wide range of activities, including battles, fishing, bounty hunting, carriage hijacking, castle sieges, arm wrestling, sheep rescuing, dog petting, sky island exploration, hot air balloon rides, and climbing colossal creatures.
The combat system is diverse, allowing players to use a bow and arrow, a sword, and even utilize environmental elements to gain an advantage. Horse drifting and transforming into a flock of crows for travel are also unique features.
The Gamescom trailer showcases the game’s extensive content, combining elements from Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption, Mount & Blade, and Assassin’s Creed. Crimson Desert was initially revealed in 2019 but underwent significant changes based on fan feedback.
With such a vast array of activities, it remains to be seen if Crimson Desert can successfully integrate all these features or if they will clash with one another.
