Kuma, the faithful companion and protector of Heihachi Mishima, founder of The King of the Iron Fist tournament, has been officially announced as a playable character in Tekken 8.
In the latest Tekken 8 trailer, several beloved characters from previous games were teased, including Dragunov and Shaheen. Among them was Kuma, who showcased his unique fighting style by wielding a salmon as a weapon in what appears to be his Rage Art animation.
Fans were delighted to see that Kuma was wearing Heihachi Mishima’s iconic outfit, despite the fact that Heihachi was presumed dead after his climactic battle against his son, Kazuya Mishima, in Tekken 7.
Kuma’s loyalty to his master is evident in his choice of attire. He firmly believes that Heihachi is still alive and continues to train diligently in the Mishima-style martial arts that he learned from his beloved master. In fact, Kuma’s fighting style is now officially known as Heihachi-Style Advanced Kuma Shin Ken, as stated in his biography on the official Tekken 8 website.
A gameplay screenshot reveals that Kuma has incorporated some of Heihachi’s signature moves into his own repertoire, such as the powerful Demon Breath. This integration of Heihachi’s techniques into Kuma’s playstyle has fans eagerly anticipating the character’s official announcement trailer, where they hope to see even more of the bear’s formidable abilities.
Kuma’s unwavering dedication to his master is admirable. He has vowed to continue fighting until Heihachi returns, even if it means being the last one standing.
Stay tuned for more updates on Tekken 8 and the exciting adventures of Kuma, the bear with the heart of a warrior.
