The highly anticipated M5 World Championship group draw results have been unveiled, promising an action-packed group stage. Fourteen qualified teams from different regions, including two Wild Card teams, will compete from December 2 to 17, 2023, for a chance to win a share of the US$900,000 prize pool.
How the Group Draw Works
Before the draw, the teams were divided into three main pools. Pool 1 included MPL PH Season 12 champions AP Bren and runner-ups Blacklist International, as well as MPL ID Season 12 champions ONIC Esports and runner-ups Geek Fam. Pool 2 consisted of various champions from different regions, such as HomeBois, Triple Esports, SeeYouSoon, Fire Flux Esports, RRQ Akira, Team Flash, Burmese Ghouls, and TheOhioBrothers. Pool 3 comprised Bigetron Sons, DeusVult, and two Wild Card teams.
During the draw, teams from the same region were not allowed to be placed in the same group. Additionally, teams from Pool 1 and Pool 3 could not be drawn into the same group.
M5 Group Draw Results
The group stage will take place from December 2 to 7, followed by the Knockout Stage from December 9 to 16. The grand final will be held on December 17.

Prior to the Group Stage, two teams will have the opportunity to secure their spot in the main tournament through the Wild Card event. The event will be held in Malaysia from November 23 to 26.
