Excitement is building among fans of Modern Warfare 3 zombies as new gameplay and features have been announced. The highly anticipated mode was absent from the previous title, Modern Warfare 2, much to the disappointment of many Call of Duty players.
Activision has revealed that the MW3 zombies gameplay will deviate from the traditional round-based format and instead focus on a player-vs-environment story with an extraction shooter-style gameplay loop. Players will drop into different areas on the new Warzone map, complete objectives, gather essence and other items, and then reach an exfil point to progress.
One of the most exciting changes is the number of players that can join in the fight against the undead. Up to 24 players can team up in squads of four, making it the largest Call of Duty Zombies map ever. However, it’s important to note that this is a strictly player-vs-enemy (PvE) mode, with no player-vs-player action.

MW3 Zombies Storyline
The MW3 zombies storyline takes place after the events of Cold War’s Dark Aether story. In Operation Deadbolt, Task Force 141 is on a mission to hunt down Viktor Zakhaev, the villain responsible for causing a zombie outbreak using a vial of Aetherium. Players can choose to simply slay zombies or engage in Dark Aether missions and other goal-oriented content to further the story.
MW3 Zombies Perks
Activision has unveiled nine fan-favorite perk-a-cola options available in MW3 zombies. Each perk offers unique benefits to enhance gameplay:

| PHD Flopper | Triggers an explosion when diving to prone, with the explosion increasing based on fall height. Provides immunity to fall damage and area-of-effect damage from equipped weapons. |
| Quick Revive | Reduces health regeneration delay time by 50% and speeds up revival of allies by 50%. |
| Speed Cola | Enables faster reloading and armor replacement. |
| Stamin-Up | Increases running and sprinting speed. |
| Tombstone Soda | Creates a tombstone stash at the player’s location upon death, containing their backpack inventory for the next game. |
