NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1 is set to be a bloody blockbuster for fighting game fans. The latest trailer confirms the addition of Motaro and Shunjinko to the list of Mortal Kombat 1 characters, while Sindel joins the main roster. We also get our first look at General Shao, a highly anticipated kombatant.
In a thrilling gameplay trailer revealed at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live, studio head Ed Boon introduces the new fighters, including General Shao. Serving as Queen Sindel in Outworld, he wields a powerful two-handed battleaxe and possesses otherworldly abilities with a menacing red theme.
General Shao, previously known as Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 11, was the ruler of Outworld. It remains to be seen if he will challenge Sindel for her seat in Mortal Kombat 1, but his character suggests it’s a possibility. Can Liu Kang intervene and change the outcome?
The trailer also showcases a new fatality performed by Sindel, demonstrating her deadly prowess.
Mortal Kombat 1 is highly anticipated and has the potential to become one of the best fighting games upon its release.
