Popular streamer Nicholas “Nickmercs” Kolcheff has officially joined the ranks of streaming platform Kick. In an announcement video, the 32-year-old revealed his new partnership, symbolized by his iconic spartan warrior mascot donning a new green helmet.
According to Forbes, Nickmercs has signed a non-exclusive contract with Kick, estimated to be worth a staggering $10 million. This non-exclusivity allows him to continue streaming on Twitch while gradually transitioning his audience to the new platform.
Kick has been leveraging this strategy to bridge the gap between its main competitor, Twitch, and its own platform. By signing top creators like Nickmercs, they aim to attract viewers and establish themselves as a formidable contender in the live streaming space.
Joining an impressive roster of creators on Kick, including Felix “xQc” Lengyel, Hikaru “GMHikaru” Nakamura, and Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa, Nickmercs brings his extensive experience in first-person shooter games such as Call of Duty, Halo, and Fortnite.
With nearly seven million followers on Twitch, Nickmercs hopes to bring his loyal fanbase, known as the MFAM, to his new home on Kick. In addition to the substantial contract, the platform will support him with live events and other forms of content creation.
This move signifies another significant development in the ongoing battle for dominance in the live streaming industry. Kick’s aggressive approach and high-profile signings are causing ripples that suggest the competition is far from over.
