Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has made a significant change to its Counter-Strike 2 team as it enters a new era. The organization has decided to bring back Patrick “es3tag” Hansen, who previously left the team in 2022. This decision comes after Björn “THREAT” Pers, the team’s new General Manager, identified a leadership issue within the squad.
During an internal interview, THREAT acknowledged a role clash within the team and emphasized the importance of everyone feeling comfortable. He stated that while perfect roles on every map may not be achievable, the team needs to improve in this aspect. As a result, Hampus “hampus” Poser, the team’s former in-game leader, has been benched to make room for the return of es3tag.
Hampus took over the in-game leader role after Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen in early 2023. Despite several changes, NIP has struggled to find success. THREAT hopes that this latest adjustment will address the team’s issues and lead to improved performance.
Below is the current roster for Ninjas in Pyjamas:
Player | Role |
---|---|
Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin | |
Fredrik “REZ” Sterner | |
Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke | |
Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov | |
Patrick “es3tag” Hansen | |
Hampus “hampus” Poser (benched) |
The team’s coach is Daniel “djL” Narancic.
