One Piece Live Action Season 1 Ending: Key Differences Compared to the Anime

superadmin

1. The Barrel Scene: Live Action vs. Anime

In the live action adaptation of One Piece, the iconic barrel scene takes place with all five Straw Hat Pirates participating in a ceremony where they share their dreams and place their right leg on a barrel. However, there are notable differences compared to the anime version. In the live action, the scene is portrayed differently, without the pouring rain and strong winds that were present in the anime. Additionally, the live action includes flashbacks to the characters’ childhood memories, which were not shown in the anime.

2. Arlong Park Arc and Loguetown Arc

The live action adaptation of One Piece combines elements from both the Arlong Park Arc and the Loguetown Arc to conclude its storyline. The climactic battle at Arlong Park, where Luffy defeats Arlong, serves as the finale of the first season. However, the live action also includes the barrel scene and teases the introduction of a character from the Loguetown Arc. This suggests that if a second season is produced, it will likely continue the story from the Loguetown Arc.

3. Garp’s Early Appearance

In the anime, Marine vice admiral Garp was not supposed to make his appearance until the Arabasta Saga, which comes after the East Blue Saga. However, in the live action adaptation, Garp appears much earlier. This change was made to increase Garp’s presence in the initial episodes and create a continuous sense of pursuit by the Marines on the Straw Hat Pirates, adding more tension and stakes to the series.

Live Action Anime

Garp appears earlier in the live action adaptation. Garp’s appearance is scheduled for a later arc in the anime.
The live action adjusts the story structure to increase Garp’s presence and create more tension. Garp’s appearance and clash with Luffy occur later in the anime.
