ONIC Esports’ Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol may not have won the M4 World Championship crown, but he left a lasting legacy by playing one of the most unique jungle picks in the tournament.
In the fourth game against North America’s The Valley, Kairi surprised everyone with his Jungle Lunox pick. Lunox is typically played in the midlane, making this an unconventional choice.
Despite the risk, Kairi showcased his skills and had an outstanding performance that helped eliminate The Valley from the competition. Here’s how he did it.
How to Play Jungle Lunox like Kairi at the M4 World Championship
In the draft, The Valley banned five of Kairi’s best heroes, forcing him to think outside the box. He decided to go for the Jungle Lunox cheese pick. Normally, Lunox is played alongside Grock and Lolita, two strong initiators in the current meta.
To maximize his healing capabilities in the early game, Kairi purchased Elegant Gem as his first item. He also had Grock and Lolita positioned around him during the first jungle wave to prevent invades.
Once he reached level four, Kairi used Lunox’s Power of Chaos ultimate to gank The Valley’s EXP lane Gloo twice within the first five minutes. With the initiators backing him up, Kairi quickly snowballed and almost completed a full stack of Clock of Destiny in the midgame.
After Clock of Destiny, Kairi focused on magic penetration items like Divine Glaive and Genius Wand to increase his killing potential.
Whenever he found himself in a tough spot, Kairi used the Power of Brilliance to escape and then counterattacked with Power of Chaos for easy pickoffs.
Kairi’s performance was so dominant that he finished the game with a flawless 7/0/5 KDA.

To succeed with Jungle Lunox, it is crucial to have a strong early game. While getting kills is important, the main focus should be on completing Clock of Destiny and at least one magic penetration item within the first 10 minutes of the match.
Kairi’s choice of Secret Shop in his emblem set, which reduces the price of items in the shop, reflects the importance of quickly acquiring the necessary items.
