The PUBG Nations Cup returned to Seoul for its third edition, and the South Korean team emerged victorious in front of their home crowd. Led by player Seoul, the team showcased exceptional skills and claimed the championship title.
The South Korean team, consisting of Giyeol “seoul” Cho, Heejoo “Inonix” Na, Jungyoung “Loki” Park, Taesung “Heaven” Kim, and coach Myounggwan “ssonic” Shin, dominated the competition and earned the lion’s share of the US$300,000 prize pool.
Seoul, the most valuable player of the tournament, displayed outstanding performance with 34 kills. South Korea secured three overall round firsts and recorded a total of 106 kills, surpassing all other teams by a significant margin.
Their success was attributed to their remarkable consistency, finishing in the top three in eight out of the 18 rounds played. With a total of 172 points, South Korea proved their dominance in the competition.
In addition to the thrilling matches, the PUBG Nations Cup 2023 also provided a first look at the new City of Glory map. The tournament showcased the Vikendi map, along with the Blizzard Zone and Sandstorm weather effects that added excitement and unpredictability to the matches.
Krafton Inc. unveiled a teaser trailer for PUBG’s upcoming 10th map, the City of Glory. The brief glimpse of the oriental-themed map suggests it will be set in the East and feature a nighttime setting. More details about the new map will be revealed prior to its release.
PUBG Esports will continue later this year with the PUBG Global Champions 2023, scheduled to take place in Thailand from November 18 to December 3. Fans can look forward to another thrilling competition as teams from around the world battle for supremacy in the popular battle royale game.
