After suffering a defeat from Team Korea, Team China had one last chance to secure a medal in the Asian Games. Their opponents in the third-place match were Team Vietnam, and it turned out to be an intense battle.
Team Vietnam surprised everyone by winning the first game of the series. They used a double AD carry composition, similar to what Team China had tried unsuccessfully against Team Korea. Led by their head coach SofM, a former LPL pro player, Vietnam drafted a strong lineup featuring Renekton, Maokai, Tristana mid, Kai’Sa, and Sett support. On the other hand, Team China went for K’Sante, Wukong, Neeko, Aphelios, and Nautilus.
Vietnam took an early lead by rotating around the map and securing kills in all lanes. They had double the kills of Team China by mid-game and also secured the first two dragons. With their momentum, they managed to secure an uncontested Baron at the 20-minute mark. Despite trading it for an Infernal Dragon, Vietnam continued their aggressive play and closed out the game in just 27 minutes.
In game two, Team China made a comeback on blue side. They picked Renekton, Sejuani, and Braum, along with Jayce and Ashe for their backline. Vietnam, on the other hand, mirrored their opponents’ draft from game one with K’Sante, Wukong, Neeko, Xayah, and Alistar.
With better control and coordination, Team China dominated game two. They ganked mid lane and won crucial team fights, resulting in a significant lead. They ended the game in just 25 minutes with a staggering 23 kills to six.
Game three saw Team Vietnam returning to blue side and Team China relying on Jax, Viego, Neeko, Xayah, and Rell. Team China took an early lead by diving top lane and getting their Jax ahead. However, Vietnam found opportunities elsewhere on the map and forced constant exchanges.
As the game progressed, both teams remained neck and neck in terms of gold. Vietnam managed to secure an early Baron and gain a 4,000 gold lead. But their overextension at a choke point turned the tides in favor of Team China. They secured a free Baron and won a crucial team fight, ultimately leading them to victory.
With this late game comeback, Team China secured the bronze medal for their country. It was an exciting series filled with non-stop team fights and intense moments.
