Valorant has a total of nine ranks, with the first eight divided into three tiers. The ranks, from lowest to highest, are: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal, and Radiant. Each rank, except for Radiant, has three tiers. Your rank will also affect your Act Rank, which is determined by your highest-ranked victory in an entire Act.
If you want to play ranked with your friends, you can queue up as a group as long as there isn’t a significant rank difference. Groups of two to three players can join competitive matches within a designated rank range. For example, if the lowest rank in the party is Iron and the highest rank is Silver, they can play together. However, if the highest rank is Gold, they cannot queue together.
Five-stack parties, which consist of a full team of five players, do not have any ranked restrictions. However, if the five-stack includes players with a wide range of ranks, they will incur penalties in their Rank Rating (RR). For example, a five-stack with only Silver and Gold players won’t face RR penalties. But a five-stack with a mix of Silver, Gold, and Ascendant players will experience RR penalties.
It’s important to note that players ranked Immortal 1 and above can only participate in solo, duo, or full five-stack queues.
