Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan, the renowned Dota 2 player, is set to make a comeback with Team Secret in Western Europe. The team announced last night that the 24-year-old will be replacing Armel “Armel” Tabios, who will be taking a well-deserved break with his family.
SumaiL, who is currently under contract with Nigma Galaxy and on loan at Team Aster, will join the rest of the Team Secret roster for their upcoming matches. Despite not being able to participate in The International 2023, SumaiL’s availability to play for another team is likely due to the absence of his current teams from the tournament.
Team Secret’s current lineup recently came close to qualifying for TI12 through the WEU qualifier. They put up a strong fight but were ultimately defeated by Quest Esports in a tense three-game series during the lower bracket semifinals.
The team will now be competing in BetBoom Dacha, which features some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Six out of the eight participating teams are also scheduled to compete in TI12 later this year. The tournament boasts a prize pool of US$250,000, with the winner taking home a significant portion of US$150,000.
Stay tuned for more updates on the qualified teams attending The International 2023.
