Bandai Namco has announced the latest addition to the roster of Tekken 8, and it’s none other than Feng Wei, the Master of God Fist. Feng Wei, who first appeared in Tekken 5 in 2005, is seeking revenge against Wing Chun master Leroy Smith, who defeated him in a previous battle.
Who is Feng Wei?
Feng Wei is a skilled practitioner of Taijiquan, with the goal of becoming the ultimate warrior known as the Dragon God. He defied the rules of his martial arts dojo by engaging in fights with practitioners of different styles, ultimately leading to the tragic death of his master. In Tekken 7, he faced defeat at the hands of Leroy Smith, who deemed him unworthy of comparison to his late master.
Feng Wei’s Changes in Tekken 8
In the character trailer, several notable changes to Feng Wei’s moveset are showcased. He now has a low sweep to shoulder bump combo that can knock opponents across the screen. Additionally, his Shifting Clouds stance includes a spike move, and the sabaki reversal from the stance has a stun property that can lead to a combo. One of the highlights of the trailer is Feng’s new Rage Art animation, where he channels his chi and transforms into what appears to be the embodiment of the Dragon God.
Feng Wei will be one of the 19 playable characters in the upcoming Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test, scheduled to take place from October 20 to October 23.
