Wanwan: The Agile Marksman
Wanwan is a highly mobile marksman who can easily dodge Freya’s attacks with her Tiger Pace ability. She can also remove Freya’s crowd control effects using Needles in Flowers. When Freya tries to engage with Leap of Faith, quickly activate Needles in Flowers and stun her with Swallow’s Path. Take advantage of her weaknesses by hitting her with basic attacks to trigger Crossbow of Tang. To further counter Freya, purchase Sea Halberd to reduce her shield gain and Wind of Nature for temporary immunity against her physical damage.
Minsitthar: The Control Master
The revamped Minsitthar has powerful control skills that give him the upper hand in a 1v1 battle against Freya. Use King’s Calling to prevent Freya from using Leap of Faith and Shield Assault to reduce damage taken from the front. Continuously attack while your shield is up. If Freya tries to escape, pull her back with Spear of Glory and keep attacking to stun her and benefit from the healing effects of Mark of the King. In the early game, Freya may have the advantage, but with core items like Corrosion Scythe and Demon Hunter Sword, you can turn the tide. Additionally, purchasing Dominance Ice will weaken Freya’s shield and attack speed.
Esmeralda: The Shield Stealer
Esmeralda is a nightmare for heroes with shield gain effects like Freya. She can steal the shields of nearby enemies and her damage ignores all shield effects. When dueling against Freya, use the Frostmoon Shield-Stardust Dance combo and weave in basic attacks. Initiate or chase her down with Falling Starmoon if she tries to escape. To further counter Freya, purchase Warrior Boots and Enchanted Talisman for increased durability. Dominance Ice will weaken her shield and attack speed, while Oracle will boost your own shield. Consider buying Ice Queen Wand to slow her down and prevent her from retreating.
