Valorant continues to push the boundaries of competitive FPS gaming with its innovative gameplay. On October 19, Riot Games unveiled its 24th agent, Iso, a shadowy assassin with a mysterious background. One of Iso’s abilities, the Kill Contract ultimate, has captured the attention of players and drawn comparisons to various gaming concepts.
The Kill Contract ultimate is reminiscent of Call of Duty’s Gulag, where players engage in one-on-one duels. It also shares similarities with the Domain Expansion technique from the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. However, for fans of MOBA games, this ability closely resembles mechanics often seen in their favorite genre.
When Iso casts the Kill Contract ultimate, an AOE expands, pulling the first opponent caught within its radius into an interdimensional arena. Inside the arena, Iso and his opponent engage in a one-on-one aim duel. Iso has the advantage with two barriers to mask his movements, while his opponent only has one. After a short period, the barriers drop, and the victor returns to the map.
This mechanic is reminiscent of certain ultimate abilities in MOBA games like MLBB and Dota 2. In MLBB, the hero Yin possesses an ability called My Turn, which operates similarly to Iso’s Kill Contract. Yin’s ultimate pulls an enemy into his domain, granting both heroes unique advantages. If Yin defeats the enemy, he gains significant benefits.
Dota 2 players may recognize a comparable mechanic in Legion Commander’s Duel ultimate. When cast on an opponent, both Legion Commander and the target hero are compelled to engage in a duel, unable to use items or abilities. The winner of the Duel receives permanent bonus damage, making it a crucial aspect of the game.
While there are similarities between these MOBA abilities and Iso’s Kill Contract, it’s important to note that Valorant’s execution is more complex. Players must consider their weapons and target selection, making it challenging to determine who to pull into the arena and ensuring victory.
Iso will be available in Valorant starting from October 31 with the release of Episode 7 Act 3. Get ready to experience this unique ultimate ability and dominate your opponents in the interdimensional arena.
