Kaja: The Ruby Shackler
Kaja is the perfect counter to Ruby, as his Divine Judgment ultimate can literally stop her from dancing. By shackling her, Kaja can initiate or counter-initiate team fights. Coordinate with your teammates to burst her down while she’s immobilized. Slow her down with Ring of Order and Lightning Bomb to further hinder her movements. If you’re playing as a side laner, consider building a magic build with Necklace of Durance to reduce her lifesteal. As a roamer, Dominance Ice will be a better choice.
Valir: The Ruby Repeller
Valir’s knockback, slow, and stun effects make him a headache for Ruby. Use Searing Torrent to push her away if she gets too close, and continuously hit her with Burst Fireball to activate additional damage and stun effects. When she uses her ultimate, quickly cast Vengeance Flame to avoid getting pulled in. Build Boots and Ice Queen Wand for mobility and damage, and consider getting Necklace of Durance to reduce her lifesteal.
Phoveus: The Ruby Punisher
Phoveus is a nightmare for heroes with multiple blinks or dashes, making him a strong counter to Ruby. His Demonic Force ultimate can easily punish her. Use it whenever she dashes and use Malefic Terror in between jumps to gain a shield and extra movement speed. If she refuses to use her dash, force her to move with Astaros Eye or Flameshot. Build Necklace of Durance for damage or Dominance Ice for tankiness.
