Bungie is introducing the Destiny 2 Fireteam Power system, allowing players to access almost every activity in the game, regardless of their Power level. This new system, set to be introduced in The Final Shape, aims to remove restrictions and help players jump into the rich endgame content cycle. Activities such as Raids and Contest Modes will be “power-fixed,” meaning players can approach them regardless of their Power level.
Under the Fireteam Power system, the player with the highest Power level in the Fireteam will set the benchmark for the activity. Other players will be brought up to a similar level to compete effectively. While this system may raise concerns about griefing and the importance of Power, Bungie has yet to address these issues. However, Nightfall content will still respect Power levels, providing ongoing challenges for players.
In addition to the Fireteam Power system, Bungie is also introducing the Fireteam Finder system, which helps players matchmake with pre-built Fireteams for activities that require teamwork. While these changes aim to improve the overall experience, there is a possibility that they may negatively impact activities like Dungeons.
