G2 Esports Secures Spot in VCT Americas 2024

G2 Esports has officially become the 11th team to join the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Americas for the upcoming 2024 season. Riot Games made the announcement on September 23, welcoming G2 to the prestigious Valorant esports competition. The team’s roster will consist of four former members from The Guard, the victorious team of VCL Ascension Americas this year. With this exciting addition, G2 and experienced VCT NA players will once again compete at the highest level, striving to qualify for global esports events.

G2 Esports Welcomes The Guard’s Ex-Roster to VCT Americas

G2 Esports has resolved the unfortunate situation that arose at the end of the Valorant Challengers League (VCL) this year by partnering with The Guard’s former Valorant roster. The Guard fought their way through the VCL and emerged as champions of Ascension Americas in São Paolo, Brazil, defeating M80 3-1 in the grand final. This victory earned them a spot in the VCT Americas 2024 season. However, The Guard initially failed to meet the deadline to agree to the “Team Participation Agreement” for VCT Americas, leading to uncertainty. Fortunately, Riot Games granted them the opportunity to sign with G2, ensuring their participation in the upcoming season.

G2 Esports Returns to Valorant Champions Tour

This announcement also marks G2 Esports’ official return to the Valorant Champions Tour. The renowned European esports organization was a prominent force in the EMEA region and successfully qualified for Masters Reykjavik 2022. In 2023, G2 had their partnership spot in the Americas league revoked due to a controversial video posted by CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez. However, with this new Valorant roster, G2 is ready to make a strong comeback.

G2 Esports’ Valorant Roster for VCT 2024

G2 Esports’ VCT Americas roster will consist of the following players:

– Jonah “JonahP” Pulice
– Michael “neT” Bernet
– Trent “trent” Cairns
– Jacob “valyn” Batio
– Josh “JoshRT” Lee (coach)

Please note that the fifth player for G2’s VCT 2024 season has not been announced at this time.

By retaining the core members of The Guard’s successful roster, G2 Esports aims to make a significant impact in the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour Americas. Fans can expect intense competition and thrilling matches as G2 battles it out for a chance to compete in global esports events.
