Layla’s Skills in Mobile Legends
Passive – Malefic Gun
Layla’s attacks deal increased damage to enemies who are farther away from her. This does not include turrets. To maximize the effectiveness of her Malefic Gun, always try to attack from the furthest range. Use the advanced targeting method to specifically attack heroes, minions, or turrets and make the most of her range.
First Skill – Malefic Bomb
Layla fires a Malefic Bomb in the target direction, dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit. This damage can critically strike. Upon hitting an enemy, her basic attacks and Void Projectile (second skill) gain extra range for a few seconds. She also gains a temporary movement speed boost, which lasts longer if an enemy hero is hit. Get this skill at level one to effectively harass your opponent in the lane. You can also use it to hit minions or jungle creeps near you and then use the bonus range to attack your enemy. Manually target this skill for higher accuracy.
Second Skill – Void Projectile
Layla fires an orb of Malefic Energy at the target enemy, which explodes on impact, dealing physical damage to enemies in the area and applying a Magic Mark on them. When Layla hits an enemy with a Magic Mark, she deals physical damage to nearby enemies and briefly stuns them. In the early game, use this skill only when you hit an enemy with Malefic Bomb to avoid getting too close to them. Damage from Malefic Bomb and Destruction Rush (ultimate) can trigger the extra damage and stun effect.
Ultimate – Destruction Rush
Layla fires a blast of Malefic Energy in the target direction, dealing burst physical damage to enemies in a line. The range of Layla’s Void Projectile and basic attacks is increased passively with each upgrade of this skill. Additionally, her sight range is slightly increased. Use this ultimate to finish off enemies or significantly reduce their HP, forcing them to retreat. Keep in mind that there is a slight delay before the blast occurs. With proper timing, you can even steal a Turtle or Lord kill. At max level, Layla can attack turrets from outside their range, making her an excellent hero for sieging.
Recommended Battle Spell
If you’re looking for a reliable escape tool, choose Flicker as your battle spell. Use it to quickly get away from approaching enemies or chase down opponents with low health. However, if you want to play aggressively and have a roamer or other allies who can protect you during team fights, select Inspire. This spell provides extra attack speed, lifesteal, and ignores physical defense, allowing you to deal massive damage per second in clashes.
Recommended Emblem
The Marksman emblem is the best choice for Layla as it grants a significant boost to attack speed, adaptive attack, and lifesteal. For standard talents, select Fatal for extra critical chance and damage, as well as Weapon Master for additional physical attack. As for the core talent, Quantum Charge improves your survivability by providing additional movement speed and HP restoration. Alternatively, Weakness Finder can be a good option if you want to play aggressively, as it slows down your target’s movement and attack speed.
Layla’s Best Build
As the main damage dealer of your team, Layla needs items that boost her physical attack, critical chance and damage, attack speed, and lifesteal. Start with Swift Boots and then purchase Berserker’s Fury, Windtalker, Haas’ Claws, and Blade of Despair. Consider buying Wind of Nature or Rose Gold Meteor if the enemy team has assassins or mages that can threaten you. This build will ensure that Layla deals massive damage and remains a threat throughout the game.
Easy Combos to Learn
In the laning phase, harass your opponent by hitting them with Malefic Bomb followed by Void Projectile and basic attacks. Remember to hit Malefic Bomb first to gain the bonus range before going for subsequent attacks. Be patient and chip away at your enemy’s HP, but avoid diving recklessly as there may be enemies waiting in the bushes. When your target’s HP is low, finish them off from afar using Destruction Rush. Unleash it when they have used up their blink or dash ability to prevent them from dodging. During team fights, stay at the backline and keep using Malefic Bomb. Use Flicker to reposition if necessary.
