A Major Change in Modern Warfare 3: Weapon Tuning Scrapped
In a surprising move, the developers of Modern Warfare 3 have announced that they will be removing the weapon tuning feature from the game. This decision comes after considering feedback from the community and aims to make the Gunsmith feature easier to use. It is important to note that this change applies to both Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 weapons that utilize modifications.
Weapon Tuning Replaced by Nine Important Stats
Instead of relying on weapon tuning, players will now have to consider nine important stats when choosing their weapons. These stats include damage, fire rate, range, accuracy, recoil control, mobility, handling, rounds, and reserve. Each stat plays a crucial role in determining the effectiveness of a weapon in different playstyles.
Understanding the Nine Important Stats
1. Damage: This stat indicates the amount of damage inflicted on an enemy, depending on where the target is hit within the weapon’s effective range.
2. Fire Rate: The rounds per minute and rechamber time of the weapon determine its fire rate.
3. Range: This stat represents the effective range of the weapon and the velocity of each bullet fired.
4. Accuracy: It measures the spread from hip fire and the resistance to flinching while firing.
5. Recoil Control: This stat indicates the gun’s kick, as well as its horizontal and vertical recoil.
6. Mobility: It determines how quickly you can move, crouch, sprint, tactically sprint, and aim down sights while using the weapon.
7. Handling: This stat includes ADS speed, reload quickness, sprint to fire speed, and weapon swap speed.
8. Rounds: It represents the number of individual pieces of ammunition the weapon can fire before reloading is required.
9. Reserve: This stat indicates the additional ammunition the weapon carries. Once the rounds and reserve number reach zero, you will run out of ammunition.
More In-Depth Look at Weapon Attachments
To compensate for the removal of weapon tuning, the developers have provided a detailed analysis of each weapon attachment’s pros and cons. This allows players to fine-tune their weapons further without the need for a dedicated weapon tuning system.
