What is MPLI 2023?
The MPLI is one of the biggest international MLBB tournaments, jointly hosted by Moonton and ONE Esports. It has been a staple in the MLBB esports calendar since 2020, attracting top teams from around the world. The winning team will walk away with the lion’s share of the US$100,000 prize pool. Last year, ONIC Esports from Indonesia claimed victory in a thrilling grand final against Geek Fam.
MPLI 2023 Format
The tournament consists of two phases: the group stage and the playoffs. In the group stage, the 16 participating teams are divided into four groups based on fan voting. Each team will play against every other team in their group in a best-of-one, round-robin format. The top-ranked team from each group advances to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the second-ranked team moves to the lower bracket. The bottom two teams from each group are eliminated. The playoffs follow a double-elimination format, with all matches being best-of-three, except for the grand final which is a best-of-five showdown.
