Persona 3 Reload, the highly anticipated revival of the iconic Persona title, is set to release on February 2, 2024, according to ATLUS West. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this announcement since the accidental leak in June, and now the release date is finally confirmed.
Preorders are now available for both physical and digital copies of the game on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), and Steam. The digital release offers various editions, some of which include a DLC pack and a digital art book.
The new trailer showcases the game’s updated graphics, inspired by Persona 5, and fully animated cutscenes. Unlike Persona 3 Portable, players will be able to explore all locations on foot, including Gekkoukan High School and the SEES Dorm. It’s unclear whether party members will be controllable in combat, similar to later titles, or if the game will follow the original format where party members are controlled by the computer.
Unfortunately, the Female Main Character (FeMC) and the “Answer Arc” from Persona 3: FES seem to be omitted from Persona 3 Reload, which may disappoint some fans. However, certain content from these routes, such as the Ken Amada social link, will still be included in the game. Additionally, future DLC may introduce more content from these routes.
Persona 3 Reload is expected to attract new players who have never experienced the story before, as the last rerelease of the game was in 2009 with Persona 3 Portable. While some seasoned players may be disappointed with the cut content, there may be more information revealed closer to the game’s release that could improve its reception.
