One year after the surprising signing of Michał “Nisha” Jankowski, Team Liquid continues its trend of poaching the best players from their regional rivals.
Team Liquid has announced their latest superstar signing: Neta “33” Shapira. This comes after their previous offlaner, Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg, decided to take an indefinite break from Dota.
With 33 joining Team Liquid, Tundra Esports’ TI11-winning player roster has either left the organization completely or gone inactive. Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, who coached the TI11 roster, remains with Tundra, along with Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, who joined in September.
Team Liquid’s Dota 2 roster is now complete:
– Michael “miCKe” Vu
– Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
– Neta “33” Shapira
– Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
– Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi
– William “Blitz” Lee (coach)
Team Liquid has refrained from making roster changes in the past two years, only adding new players when necessary due to departures. Nisha was recruited to replace Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen upon his retirement, and 33’s addition was prompted by zai’s break. The team has steadily grown to become one of the region’s most consistent powerhouses.
Having finished second in every Major last year, Team Liquid started TI12 strong, topping the group stage with a 7-1 record. After defeating Evil Geniuses and Talon Esports, they faced Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators, both eventual finalists, and finished the tournament as a top-six team.
