Team Secret, the Western Europe organization, is making changes to its Dota 2 roster by adding new players and a coach. Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng are the latest additions to the team, while MidOne’s teammate from Team SMG, Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan, joins as the coach. The announcement was made by Team Secret last night.
In order to make room for the new additions, Armel “Armel” Tabios and Lee “Heen” Seung Gon will be moved to the inactive roster. Additionally, Saieful “Fbz” Ilham’s contract will not be extended. All three players were part of Team Secret’s recent push towards The International, where they were defeated by Entity and Quest Esports in the Regional Qualifiers.
Armel and Fbz joined Team Secret last year, but now they will be placed on the inactive roster. This marks the first coaching change for Team Secret in four years, as Heen, who was part of Secret’s most successful iterations, will no longer serve as the coach. Heen played a crucial role in leading the team to podium finishes at The International, securing third place at TI10 and second place at TI11.
MidOne, who has a long history with Secret, will be rejoining the team after spending three years with them from 2016 to 2019. During his previous tenure, MidOne established himself as one of the top midlaners in the world and helped Team Secret secure titles at the Paris Major, Changsha Major, and DreamLeague seasons eight and nine.
BOOM, who had a brief stint with Secret earlier this year, will also be returning to the team. He previously played as a midlaner but switched to the offlane position during his time with Secret. However, he left the team in June and was replaced by Fbz for the Regional Qualifiers.
