Each member of the Zero Squad gets their chance to shine, facing off against the revived Sternritters after Yhwach’s powerful Auswählen. But it is Senjumaru Shutara who truly steals the show. In a surprising twist, it is revealed that the members of the Zero Squad have sealed their true powers away in a blood pact. Only by sacrificing three of their own lives can one of them unleash their final form.
And so, Senjumaru steps up to the plate. She drops her Bankai, a reality-bending power called Shatatsu Karagara Shigarami no Tsuji. This incredible ability shakes the heavens and the earth, trapping the Sternritters in a cloth prison of their own fates. From an Iron Maiden made out of Senjumaru’s stylish form to eyes that cause blindness, her Bankai is a formidable force.
The animation in this sequence is truly stunning, making it one of the best-animated moments in the entire series. Senjumaru’s performance in the Thousand Year Blood War arc finale firmly establishes her as one of the strongest characters in Bleach.
