An Unstoppable Hitman: Mastering Valorant Iso’s Abilities

Phyre Kimble

Valorant’s newest agent, Iso, brings a unique set of abilities that will challenge players’ skills in one-on-one combat. With mechanics inspired by the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen, Iso’s abilities introduce new gameplay elements to Valorant.

Here is a comprehensive guide to help you master Iso’s extraordinary powers and understand how they seamlessly integrate into the competitive FPS shooter realm.

Contingency

Credits: 250
Max charges: 1

Press the Ability 1 key (C) to assemble prismatic energy. Fire (left-click) to create an indestructible wall of energy that blocks bullets. Unlike Harbor’s Cascade water wall smoke, Iso’s Contingency effectively stops all incoming bullets, making it an excellent tool for entering sites.

Undercut

Credits: 200
Max charges: 2

Press the Ability 2 key (Q) to equip a molecular bolt. Fire (left-click) to throw it forward, applying a brief fragile debuff to all players it touches. The bolt can pass through solid objects, including walls. Similar to Omen’s Paranoia flash, Iso’s Undercut renders affected agents vulnerable instead of causing a flash effect.

Double Tap

Credits: 150
Max charges: 2 (1 base charge)

Start a focus timer. Once completed, enter a flow state where killing or damaging downed enemies generates an energy orb. Shooting this orb grants you a shield, which absorbs one instance of damage from any source. Double Tap is a variation of Reyna’s Dismiss ability, but it requires shooting the orb to become invulnerable. However, unlike Reyna’s Dismiss, you can continue engaging opponents after activating Double Tap, nullifying high-damage weapons and abilities.

Kill Contract

Ultimate orbs: 7

Press the Ultimate key (X) to equip an interdimensional arena. Fire (left-click) to hurl a column of energy through the battlefield, pulling you and the first enemy hit into the arena. You and your opponent duel to the death. Iso’s ultimate is perfect for skilled aimers as it isolates an opponent for an easy kill. Additionally, two barriers spawn on Iso’s side of the arena, giving him more mobility before they drop. Catching enemies in their ultimates, like Viper’s Viper’s Pit or pesky Judge abusers, are ideal targets for Iso’s Kill Contract.

Iso will be available on October 31 with the release of Episode 7 Act 3.
