Team Liquid has made significant changes to their Valorant roster ahead of the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour season. The European esports organization announced their new lineup, which includes three new members joining Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, and coach Emil “eMIL” Sandgren.
Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy, a former Fortnite star turned Valorant pro, will be joining the Liquid roster. He will be accompanied by former Fnatic players James “Mistic” Orfila and Enzo “Enzo” Mestari, with Enzo taking on the role of Liquid’s new in-game leader (IGL).
These three players were part of Apek’s Valorant team last season, which finished second in the Ascension EMEA 2023 tournament, losing to Gentle Mates 3-0 in the grand final.
Liquid had a challenging start to their 2023 VCT season, being eliminated early in the VCT LOCK//IN tournament with a 2-0 defeat against Team Secret. However, they made a strong comeback in the VCT EMEA League, winning the grand final against Fnatic with a score of 3-1.
At Masters Tokyo, Liquid performed well, finishing tied for 5th place. However, they struggled in the final tournament of the season, ending up joint-13th at Valorant Champions 2023.
During the offseason, Dom “soulcas” Sulcas left the organization by mutual agreement. Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel joined Team Vitality, and Igor “Redgar” Vlasov signed with Giants.
In the new lineup, Keiko will take on the duelist main role, while Mystic will handle the controller role. NAts and Jamppi will continue in their positions from the VCT 2023 season.
